Standard Byke Company and NBL
BMX Forge New National Partnership

Standard BMXThe National Bicycle League (NBL) is proud to announce the formation of a new national level partnership with Standard Byke Company. The Standard brand has earned a loyal following in both racing and freestyle over the past two-decades and their renewed commitment to racing is good news for fans of high quality products and rider-owned companies.

Standard is one of only a handful of rider-owned companies in BMX and they continue to forge new ground in all areas of development and production. Rick Moliterno’s company has very recently taken over full control of production and manufacturing at their new factory in Davenport, IA. This will translate into a range of improvements to their already solid line of 125R race frames and forks plus a bundle of new products to compliment their American-Built line.

Moliterno, who has deep roots in bicycle motocross, is eager to see the racing side grow and the new partnership comes at a perfect time as the sport nears its Olympic milestone. A blend of national exposure, BMX Today coverage, and products for a variety of NBL programs will help expose their brand beyond their Eastern strongholds and help promote the brand to their core customers across the country.

“It is great to be working with Standard on a national level again - Rick Moliterno has maintained a steady presence in the sport and his commitment to growing BMX makes our partnership even more valuable” said Kevin O’Brien, NBL Marketing Director.

New Standard products will start to roll out in April and will be available at select bikeshops across the country and also through Goodtimes Superstore – Moliterno’s retail location. The store stocks BMX, skate, snow and also offers online sales through the website.

The Standard Army has been quietly growing over the past few years and the 2008 team is stronger than ever. To compliment the partnership, the team will host pre-race clinics at the Stars & Stripes, Music City and Speedway Nationals. Standard is jumping back in to the national limelight at just the right time.

“We are stoked to be working with the NBL and trust that Standard will be represented in the way that we want” said Moliterno, “and watch out for the Standard Army – we’re coming on strong in ’08”.
