| Imagine
a weekend full of learning and idea-sharing that brings
together the growing family of NBL Track Directors,
Clerks, Volunteers, and Staff under one roof. Thats
what the Annual Competition Congress is all about
and this year, more than 200 delegates will converge
in Dublin, Ohio for the 3-day event.
The
NBL conducts a wide variety of seminars to help
volunteers run their local and state programs more
efficiently. The seminars cover a wide range of
topics including Running a Local Program, Promotions,
Track Maintenance, Refereeing, Clerking, and Medical
Training. Each and every volunteer who attends Congress
walks away with valuable information to take back
to their local program. In addition, the yearly
gathering also serves as the platform in the voting
process for the NBL Board of Directors.
As
part our ongoing commitment to keep the grass-roots
growing, NBL will award more than $60,000 in Grants
back to the tracks and athletes this year
a win-win situation for everyone. They include awards
for highest local attendance, most new riders, and
the Bob Warnicke Awards for athletes and
educational pursuit. Congress is a long-standing
NBL tradition and its our way of saying thank-you
to all of our tracks. Its a great networking
tool and the tracks get a great opportunity to meet
the staff and their fellow track directors
said Bob Tedesco, NBL Managing Director.
In many ways, it is the true essence of what
the NBL is all about Tedesco adds.
This
year, tracks also get a chance to learn about NBLs
growing list of partners. New for 2008, a new product/service
display section will provide a good opportunity
for tracks to familiarize themselves with BAWLS
Guarana, Intense BMX, Standard Byke Company, Free
Agent, UGP, THE, Sinz, and Camp Woodward.
