Seminar: Action Sports' Careers for Young Riders

Community Center Near the Santa Monica Skate Park Welcomes
Action Sports' Industry Leaders to Speak to Young Riders
about Careers within the Industry They Love
On
June 2nd, 2007, from 10am until noon, employees from leading
companies in the action sports industry get together for
a career seminar aimed at talking to youth with prospective
employment goals. The skateboarding, surfing, BMX and
snowboarding industries will all be represented. The location
of the event is the "Community Room" of Memorial
Park at 1401 Olympic Blvd in Santa Monica CA, 90404. The
goal of this seminar is to teach young people about the
different jobs that are available in the industry, covering
the following topics: typical day in the work place, pros/cons
of working within an industry that you love, paths taken
to get where they are.
The
list of speakers for this seminar is growing, but the
following companies are sending employees; Studio411,
The Banquet, Micreation, X-Games, Imagine Marketing Agency,
etc.
The
following careers will be discussed: graphic design, web
design, video editor, action sports content marketing,
retail, apparel design, team management, marketing, community
relations and event management.
This
seminar is operated and funded by The Collaboration Project,
an action sports foundation that allocates funds, awareness
and means to action sports and youth causes. Those interested
in registering for the seminar must email thecollaborationproject@yahoo.com
with their full name, age and phone number. Those under
age 18 will have a representative from the foundation
call to get parental permission.
